![]() So I returned the charger and bought a dumb charger aka old school charger. after several attempts and a ton of frustration I asked around and was told the so called smart charger wouldn't recognize the battery as being good if the voltage was under 10.5 volts and being it's a new battery with very little charge it could not charge the battery. I bought a Viking smart battery charger maintainer from harbor freight, the instructions were very vague at best regarding the invisible settings of the charger and trouble shooting.Īfter connecting the charger to the battery it flashed indicating it was testing the battery but after an hour a bad battery symbol came up on the charger. ![]() ![]() Step 3 charge the battery with a 2 amp 12volt battery charger for 3 hours. Step 2 let battery sit for 60 mins and then top off each cell as some will lose acid as it settles. Reading the instructions it said step one fill the battery cells to the upper level line of each cell with the acid provided with the battery. So recently I purchased a new 16CL-b battery for my jetski restoration project, I have never owned a jetski before and thus never owned a 16CL-b battery so when I purchased a new battery I was surprised to find that there was some assembly required, meaning i had to fill the battery with acid/electrolyte before use.
